Meet the Tacoma small businesses participating in the second annual Tacoma Small Business Bingo this July! We've worked hard to ensure there is a little bit of something for everyone. We will add the remaining businesses as everyone confirms. We've included the latest hours for all of these businesses but recommend you triple check (via their social or a phone call) before heading-out to get your stamps!

Big Bus Paddlesports

Big Bus PaddlesBigports is a paddleboard rental company based in Tacoma and housed in a uniquely renovated school bus. They provide rentals, classes, guided tours, and special events. They've been and all ages business in Ruston for five years and are actively working to be more intentional in the community.

Bloom Society

Bloom Society is a local gift shop, women-led community, and creative space nestled in the heart of Ruston. 💛

Founded by Jessica, a passionate advocate for connection and supporting small businesses, Bloom Society is more than a shop — it’s a space where ideas bloom and women rise together.

Inside, you’ll find thoughtfully curated handmade goods, small-batch creations, and gifts with heart. And beyond the shelves is the Bloom Sisterhood — a growing community of women-led small businesses and creatives who believe in showing up for each other and growing together.

Connect the Brick

Connect the Brick is an 89 square foot Lego shop celebrating it's 10th year in business this July, located in Tacoma, WA and run by Eric (now 20 years old)! I have loved LEGO® since I was, like, 2, and I started collecting them early on.  I wanted to find a way to share what I had so I asked my parents if maybe I could sell or trade with others. My mom was nice and let me borrow one of her tables so that I could set up at a sidewalk sale.  I put everything together with my dad's help, too, and started my business.I saved enough money to open a real shop by selling at markets, sidewalk sales, and doing business with family and friends. Please come and see me, I'd be happy to meet you!

Crafty AF Studio

Crafty AF Studio moved to a new shop location in March 2025! They feature over 50 local makers in their shop - so a little bit of everything - soaps, purses, candles, etc. They also carry art supplies - mostly paper, scrapbooking , paper, and paints - and offer a workshop space for classes that are offered throughout each month as well as open art time for folks to hang out and craft.

The Curious Bear Toy & Book Shop

Good Luck Shop

Good Luck Shop is a multi-brand clothing and homewares shop (that just opened in June) in Tacoma's Historic Proctor District. With a focus on slow fashion, they specialize in thoughtfully made goods from small and independent brands.

Grit City Made

Grit City Made is a collaboratively run community art shop rooted in Tacoma, WA. We came together as artists, organizers, and friends to build the kind of space we couldn't find elsewhere: accessible, welcoming, and centered on local creativity. We started by hosting grassroots markets with no budget, just a shared belief in uplifting our community. This storefront is a continuation of that work, offering art, workshops, and connection for and by the people of Tacoma.

King's Books

King’s Books is a community-oriented bookstore with 4500 square feet and approximately 100,000 books. They have an array of events weekly, from book clubs to author events, community gatherings to our annual letterpress festival. They opened on April 1, 2000 and have become the largest used and new independent bookstore in the Tacoma area. King’s Books is a proud member of the Stadium Historic District Business Association, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Association (PNBA), and the American Booksellers Association (ABA).

King’s Books is owned by sweet pea Flaherty, who took over the bookstore from John Schoppert and Pat McDermott in 2010. sweet pea has been a bookseller since 2000, starting at McDermott Books and A Room of One's Own Feminist Bookstore in Madison, Wisconsin. sweet pea moved to Tacoma to work at King's Books in 2003.

Mattice Beauty Supply + BONUS BINGO STOP AT SAVOR FEST PNW

In addition to visiting Mattice Beauty Supply for your bingo stamp, you can also find Mattice at the Savor Fest PNW - the 5th annual Multicultural Food Festival with Mi Centro on Sunday, July 20th from 12pm to 5pm on Hilltop where you will earn a BONUS BINGO stamp! More details can be found here.

Mattice is the owner of Mattice Beauty Supply. The only, black, woman and veteran owned beauty supply store in Tacoma. She sells wigs, extension hair, accessories, hair tools and products for every hair type. She sells 14 local brands in her store and is a true believer in “shopping local strengthens communities”. In her spare time you can find her “rolling” around Tacoma supporting and visiting other small businesses.

McCoy Kids

McCoy Kids is a curated toy, book, and gift shop for the littles in your life. We were online-only for three years and made the leap into our brick & mortar space November of 2023. The shop is intentionally stocked with items that are sustainable and built to last, and we are especially proud of our children's book selection that focuses on own voices, diversity, and inclusion. If you're looking for a gift for a little in your life and don't know where to start, we're a good start - folks often joke that we're the toy shop that adults like shopping at, too. I'm sure the free gift wrap doesn't hurt.

Oscar's Enemies **BONUS BINGO STOP**

Oscar’s Enemies, named after the beloved green grouch, hosts regular community trash cleanup days. The group has specialized jobs – sweepers, drivers, full trash bag collectors, and route leaders – who lead volunteers as they scour their selected routes each month. Oscar's Enemies is partnering with us on July 5, 2025 on Ruston Way to conduct one of their Quick Picks as a Bonus Bingo! The Pacific Northwest shop is located in the Proctor District of Tacoma and specializes in goods made in the PNW. They love supporting Tacoma initiatives that foster a great community right here in our corner of Washington State.

Paper Luxe (Fircrest location, only)

Paper Luxe is a gift and greeting card store filled with beautiful, unique gifts and goods for all of life’s occasions. Located in Fircrest, Washington, Paper Luxe is located next door to our sister shop The Curious Bear Toy & Book Shop. In September 2021, we opened our second Paper Luxe location in Uptown Gig Harbor, Washington as well as a baby store Little Luxe Baby.

Our goal in all four stores is to provide our community with a welcoming and warm place to shop for quality goods. We pride ourselves on our above-and-beyond customer service attitude and our ability to curate a diverse selection of products, many made by local artisans.

Tinkertopia

Tinkertopia works with local businesses, capturing safe, reusable materials from the waste stream (aka Great Material Continuum), and reimagines these as unusual arts and craft supplies for kids, teachers, makers and tinkerers. Our Low-tech on site makerspace is an inspiring place to experience the creative process and explore ways to build with up-cycled parts.
