About Us

Shop Local Tacoma and Tacoma Small Business BINGO was founded by four Tacoma residents and small business owners on a mission to help folks discover the wonderful small businesses in our community. Learn a little bit more about each of us, below!

Mattice Hoyt | Mattice Beauty Supply

Mattice is the owner of Mattice Beauty Supply. The only, black, woman and veteran owned beauty supply store in Tacoma. She sells wigs, extension hair, accessories, hair tools and products for every hair type. She sells 14 local brands in her store and is a true believer in “shopping local strengthens communities”. In her spare time you can find her “rolling” around Tacoma supporting and visiting other small businesses.

Liz Van Dyke | Stocklist Goods & Gifts

Liz is the owner of Stocklist Goods & Gifts in Downtown Tacoma. She loves bringing local wares and other awesome gifts to the fine folks of her city. She thought it was so cool that Mattice was one of South Sound Businesses 40 under 40 in 2023 that she sought out nomination and was listed as one of the 40 in 2024, just in the nick of time! You can visit her and her dog Mona at her store during the week, or find her plunging in the Puget Sound on the weekends.

Amelia Bowler | Lauda

Amelia is the owner and shopkeeper of Lauda, a little stationery and gifts store in downtown Tacoma. When she's not at the shop, you can find her journaling, reading, gardening, staring out the window daydreaming, listening to boygenius, or camping in a vintage trailer. She's lived in Tacoma since New Year's Day 2016, with her husband (Tacoma born and raised), two kids, and tuxedo cat Rainbow.

Lauren Soto | McCoy Kids

Lauren is co-owner of McCoy Kids - a toy, book, and gift shop for kids that adults like shopping at, too. The store is located in Downtown Tacoma and was online-only for three years prior to that! Lauren is born-and-raised in Tacoma, WA and is the third generation of small shop owners - her Grandfather owned & operated a local treasure, Vic's Enterprises and her Mother operated Tacoma Antique Gallery and the Kathy Kaperick Gallery before founding Hilltop Artists.

Lauren grew up hanging out in all the shops up and down Antique Row and moved back to Tacoma with her husband in 2008. You can visit her shop and her other half, Evan, Wednesday through Saturday or find her chasing her son around town on weekends.
